  • Tennessee, Nashville – Zack Phillips

    Tennessee, Nashville – Zack Phillips

Zack Phillips is the former drummer, co-founder, co-songwriter for chart topping Alt/Modern Rock Band “Strange Occurrence”. He’s written 11 national radio singles. 3 of those singles would break into the Top 10 on the Alt/Modern Rock charts and 2 of those would find their way to #1. He’s toured and performmed in front of thousands nationwide, as well as appearing on TV. His drumming has also been heard with numerous other artists of various musical styles… Late Tuesday (Female Country/Pop/Folk), Jordan Munoz (Singer-Songwriter), Static Radio (Alt Rock), Kings Kids International (Gospel), Eric Ode (Childrens Artist), The Green River Music Company (Broadway Show Tunes). Zack has taken the least 3 years away from music due to a major surgery that required much recovery time. Just as he was physically ready to perform again, his mother was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of cancer. Not knowing how much time his mother had left, he and his wife decided to spend the last year in Seattle with family. Before his mother passed, she made Zack promise that he would return to music and share his gift once again. With that said… Zack is back and ready to once again pursue his passion of drumming and music. He is currently seeking a new band with the drive and passion to make it in the music business. His contacts and close friends include many hi executives at the major record labels as well as well-known producers in country, rock, and gospel music. If you’re interested in contacting him, he can be reached via his email Liquidmedia@gmx.com or his facebook page. www.facebook.com/zackphillips.liquidmedia Zack plays exclusively… Mapex Custom Drumkits, Paiste Cymbals, Ahead Drumsticks, Aquarian Drumheads, Gibraltar Racks & Hardware

-Started drumming when? Not long after being able to walk as a baby, with pots / pans and on boxes I would pretend were drumsets.
-Got my first mini drumset at an early age and used to play in the basement at my parents house all of the time, playing to music in head phones. This is where I taught myself.
-Not long after my parents bought me a normal sized set which further I practiced on throughout the years.
-Began playing at church on Sundays by the time I was in middle school. I also attended band in middle school where I played the snare drum. High school wouldn’t let me in due to missing some of my middle school year due to a broken leg.. (screw you high school band instructor)
-My mother eventually let me purchase a more expensive entry/intermediate level kit for my birthday in high school…this lead to even more playing and practicing.
-I became the drummer at another small local church
-Played for about a year in a southern gospel group who played out numerous outings and churches
-have been in small bands that eventually fell apart
    -drummer for employer ceremony event
-currently I am in the works of drumming for contemporary praise and worship services at a church

South Carolina, Columbia – Solomon Encina

Hi! I am 24 years old, and have been involved in worship bands for at least 9 years in my home church and at my college’s Chapel Praise band. In addition, I played drums/percussion for the California Baptist University Choir and Orchestra and recorded drums/percussion for 7 albums with Cal Baptist groups. I have also played several concerts with reknowned Gary Bonner Singers. Since then, I have moved to the Columbia area, and my wish is for God to use His talents in churches or groups in this area.

    My YouTube channel is http://www.youtube.com/starsheep4.
Some of my work and covers are posted there.

A recorded performance of the Chapel Band playing “Jesus Saves” and “Revelation Song” is posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtzrnhLnVTI.

A video that featured the band along with a backing track of us performing “Holy Is The Lord” can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFRH3xQm9hg.

Hello and God bless all the drummers on this page. It warms my heart to know that there are so many other musicians that play for God!

I am 40 years old and I have been playing since I was 9 (do the math). I began my internship as a modern day Levi in my father’s church. I spent a few years away from God and played in a Punk/Rock/Metal fusion band. After rededicating my life to Jesus Christ, I have since played in three other churches. I have also had the blessing to play for many special regional events held by the Penn-Jersey district of Wesleyan churches, as well as outdoor festivals in Allentown and Bethlehem, PA. About 10 years ago, I also had the extreme pleasure of playing a night of music with Bob Fitts, who visited my home church at the time.

I am a passionate musician that plays the drums, percussion (afro-cuban) and bass. My influences are many (funk, rock, reggae, metal, disco) but I lean towards progressive rock, the likes of Neal Morse, Dream Theater, Rush and others.

Reasons I enjoy playing in a worship environment?
    1. to see the faces of those who appreciate my gift
    2. to hear that my playing has somehow had an impact on someone’s life!

My hope is to one day play in a “mini-touring” or studio band that shares my passion for God and the music we play in the Proggy style.

If you live in the Lehigh Valley, stop in on a Sunday morning and check out the Gym service of Bethany Wesleyan Church. I can also be reached/stalked on“Facebook”
