Louisiana, New Orleans – Justin Caverlee
This story begins with me growing up in a Catholic family. I began playing drums at 12, listening to rock records. I eventually learned jazz and realized a drummer should be able to play any musical style. The churches I went to only had boring choirs and an occasional trumpet player, drums were forbidden. Years later, I became the first drummer to play inside my parish church...the kids were dancing in the pews, something I'd never seen before. After playing in a few disastrous secular bands, I realized my drums had a purpose: to give the love of God to those who heard my music. I dream of being in a church band whom loves to better themselves on their instruments, and bring Jesus Christ into listeners' lives.
