Texas, Mesquite – Derek Emmons
Derek D. Emmons Drummer saveddrummer@sbcglobal.net | (214) 549-3299 | myspace.com/derekemmons It is my desire to use my God-given talent to be a full-time, on fire, disciple of Christ! I pray that my drumming will serve God and His plans for building His kingdom on earth. My beliefs: God is the sole creator of the universe, and He created us all in His own image. I am a representative of God here on earth. I am a disciple of Christ. The Bible is the Word of God, the greatest love story ever written, and life's instruction manual. The Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, and whomever believes in Him shall be saved. My story: I started playing drums at the age of seven when my mother bought me my very first snare drum. After high school I began playing clubs and bars, from hole-in-the-wall dives to The Hard Rock Café. I played with some great bands, but in 1997 I decided, for my family, to leave that lifestyle and that environment. I turned my life over to our Lord and Savior and in the year 2000 was blessed with meeting an ex-con-turned-preacher that taught me that it didn't matter where we have been or what we have done, Jesus Christ has covered our sin. I began traveling with this preacher and others to Texas prisons. I'm not really sure who was blessed more, the men and women in those prisons, or me. Since 2008 I have focused on church praise and worship. I am very excited for the opportunity to serve Dr. Tony Evans and Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship with the talent that God has given me, and for me and my wife Bridget of 27 years to become members of the OCBF Church Family. I am Ministry Minded with over 30 years experience of playing by ear and studio recording experience as well. Derek D.
